THE RIDGEFIELD COMMUNITY Ridgefield is located in northwest Clark County, Washington along the Interstate 5 corridor, 17 miles from the Portland International Airport. Washington State University-Vancouver and Clark College are located within 20 minutes. PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT The City of Ridgefield’s Public Works Department supports the community’s quality of life and economic vitality by managing the planning, design, construction, and operation of all City-owned public infrastructure to meet the needs of the community. As the city of Ridgefield continues to rapidly grow, the Ridgefield Public Works Department has and will be responsible for designing, managing construction of, and maintaining, a variety of key assets including streets, sidewalks, water rights/wells, stormwater facilities, community parks, and even a City cemetery. Department employees work closely with the Community Development Department to provide design guidelines, requirements, and oversight for the development and installation of all capital and development projects associated with the new and existing infrastructure, which are vital to the community.
THE POSITION This is a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for an experienced professional who wants to make a difference in an active and growing community. Under the general direction of the Capital Projects Program Manager, this position performs professional level project management work for assigned Public Works capital projects including transportation improvements, facilities and parks improvements, multimodal pathways, water, stormwater and pavement preservation. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The salary range for the position is $75,076.19 - $98,861.01 annually; the starting salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications. The City of Ridgefield currently provides medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents. Employees currently contribute $157.68 per month for their medical premium. The City also provides life insurance at two times your annual salary, long-term disability insurance, flexible spending account options, a VEBA account, and an Employee Assistance Program. Other benefits include career development training, an Employee Wellness program, voluntary life insurance, paid vacation and sick leave. Leave benefits currently accrue up to 96 hours during your first year of employment, 11 paid holidays per year, 24 additional paid personal hours, and 8 hours accrued sick leave each month. Retirement benefits are provided through the Washington State Retirement System.
