Planning, directing and administering multiple technical work groups supporting the development and maintenance of assets within the right of way. Including, but not limited to, streets, sidewalks, trails, curb and gutter, trees, and other right of way assets. Evaluation and monitoring of right of way infrastructure operations, providing budget oversite, and program quality controls and improvements to support the Public Works Department goal of assuring an exceptional and sustainable quality of life to Austin’s residents and business community. This means employees in this position will be required to report to work even in the event of bad weather, natural disaster, or other unforeseen circumstances that necessitate an emergency closure of City operations. Pay Range $44.15 – $58.35 Hours Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Hours may vary depending on work demands and business needs. Job Close Date 09/07/2018 Type of Posting Department Regular/Temporary Grant Funded or Pooled Position Category Location Preferred Qualifications •Experience in managing and coordinating special project activities with federal, state, county, other public agencies, and other City departments. •Experience in budget forecasting, developing, and monitoring a division budget and expenditure. •Experience in developing and implementing technical and construction standards for municipal right of way assets. •Experience in developing annual maintenance service plans for right of way assets. •Experience in leading a diverse level of field operations and engineering teams in managing the life cycle of pavement and other assets in the right of way. •Experience with pavement asset management principals and continuous improvement methods. •Experience presenting information related to engineering projects to diverse stakeholder groups, including City Council, boards and commissions, advisory committees and citizen groups. •A valid Class C TX driver license. Manages, coordinates, implements, and/or monitors projects/programs including the review of plans and development proposals for impacts related to engineering project/program. Recommends revisions and permit requirements to mitigate negative impacts of development and assures plans conform to City policies. Approves construction plans.
