The City of Tualatin is actively recruiting for an Engineering Associate. The successful candidate will be able to leave his or her fingerprints on the City by performing moderately complex engineering work of a technical nature, which includes drafting, engineering calculations, project management, construction inspection, and technical administrative support. The successful candidate will determine the impact of proposed developments on City facilities and systems, and prepares staff report decisions. Other significant duties include interaction with agencies such as Clean Water Services, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Washington County, Clackamas County, and Oregon Department of Transportation; communication with property owners, developers, contractors, consultants, and staff from other agencies; working with CADD/GIS system, reviews civil engineering design of projects, and performing engineering work related to development and capital projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews engineered plans and specifications for a variety of public works and private development construction to ensure compliance with City standards and conditions of approval. Communicates results of plan reviews with applicants. Coordinates with Clean Water Services and other agencies as needed to obtain approval for each project.
