The Operations and Maintenance (OPS) Division is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer. This position is responsible for leading the division's technical elements of the project development group and providing engineering oversight for the maintenance of the road and bridge network, including ancillary features such as drainage, vegetation, and other related features. Typical projects and work performed by the OPS division includes asphalt surface overlays, replacement of drainage structures, replacement of pavement markings, repairs and upgrades to concrete appurtenances, as well as improvements related to minor road or bridge construction projects and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure. In addition to designing projects and writing specifications, ideal candidates must also have project management skills associated with construction. This role requires a combination of field and office work to ensure projects and maintenance activities are in compliance with regulations, standards, and industry best practices. Additionally, this position provides administrative support associated with personnel, budgets, and policies. The ideal incumbent will possess a balanced combination of supervisory, transportation design, construction, and project delivery experience. Candidates should be familiar with paving materials; the design, construction and/or maintenance of bridges; performing drainage analysis and design; and slope stability and retaining walls. In addition, candidates should be effective communicators on both technical and non-technical topics and have experience communicating with the public.
