Street and Bridge Superintendent Salary: $55,823/YR - $83,464/YR / DOQ San Angelo lies within the rugged terrain of West Texas ranching country. San Angelo is also home to an eclectic arts scene, a rejuvenated downtown with bustling night life, an outstanding parks system, ample opportunities for exploring nature, and alluring spots for boating, fishing, and hunting. Strong, local public and private schools and Angelo State University, a member of the Texas Tech collegiate system that recently topped 10,000 enrolled students, bring additional appeal to the already diverse cultural allures found in San Angelo. The Position The Street and Bridge Superintendent works under the Operations Department in the leadership of the Street and Bridge Division in daily street and alleyway maintenance and repair functions. The San Angelo City Council recently ranked streets as their Number 2 priority and have allocated substantial increases in maintenance and capital funding in support of their goal of improving San Angelo’s roadway infrastructure. The Street and Bridge Division plays a strong part in achieving this goal, and has recently implemented new processes and new machinery, such as a hot in place asphalt recycling machine, as a step into the future for this Division. The successful candidate should support our goal as a dynamic leader focused on continual team development and process improvement. A strong background in various street applications and best practices will assist the Street and Bridge Superintendent in evaluating past and current operations as well as evaluate new advancements in the industry to achieve San Angelo’s street-related goals. Compensation and Benefits The City of San Angelo offers a competitive starting salary depending on qualifications and experience. The City participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) at a seven percent employee contribution with a municipal matching ratio of 2:1.
