The Phoenix Street Transportation Department provides for the safe, efficient, and convenient movement of people and goods on city streets. The Department manages an $87 million operating budget, a $725 million capital improvement program (CIP), and more than 680 employees. The City of Phoenix seeks a highly skilled, customer service oriented engineering professional who works effectively with the City Council, members of the Phoenix community, other City departments, and regional partners to lead this department and deliver projects, programs, and services that benefit residents, businesses, and visitors. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field AND five years of management experience, including at least three years of experience at a policy determination level. A Master’s degree is preferred. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona by end of probation.
