The Fresno County Department of Public Works and Planning is currently offering an exciting career opportunity for experienced engineering professionals for the position of Supervising Engineer.
The Supervising Engineer, reporting to a division manager, plans, directs, and manages the operations of a section or sections in the Department of Public Works and Planning. Responsibilities include planning, directing and supervising staff engaged in a variety of professional and technical civil engineering duties. Supervisory duties include selecting, training, developing, assigning and reviewing work; evaluating and disciplining subordinate staff; and communicating division policy and objectives to staff.
The current Supervising Engineer vacancy exists in the following division:
Design Division: The Design Division is responsible for the preparation of plans, specifications, and contract documents for various Public Works projects; traffic and transportation programs and studies; various public infrastructure facilities, consultant oversight, and handling the County's real property transactions. The division forms County Service Areas and Underground Utility Districts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system. Experience: Five (5) years of full-time, paid civil engineering work experience equivalent to that gained as an Engineer with the County of Fresno, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity over professional engineering staff. Registration: Possession of a valid Certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the State of California, Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists. License: Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent, may be required.
