The Opportunities: The Washington State Department of Transportation has three immediate openings for Project Engineers in the Northwest Region Sno-King Area. The available positions include:Connecting Washington Design Project Engineer – dedicated to delivery of the Connecting Washington improvement program, with a focus on managing consultant contracts in the design development of Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects, as well as special interchange and corridor studies. Oversees a small office of WSDOT staff and multiple consultant project managers.Connecting Washington Design-Build Project Engineer - dedicated to delivery of the Connecting Washington improvement program, with an initial focus on managing consultant contracts during the design development of Design-Build projects, transitioning to Design-Build construction oversight as the projects advance. Initially oversees a small office of WSDOT staff and multiple consultant project managers, transitioning to oversight of a larger construction office and staff over time.Sno-King Design Project Engineer – oversees a Design Office of up to 25 people, tasked with delivering a large volume of preservation, safety, fish passage and improvement projects. Delivery method is mainly Design-Bid-Build but includes design development of at least one Design-Build fish passage project and oversight of one consultant lead corridor study. Connecting Washington is a 16-year, $16 billion program that includes improvements to a diverse group of transportation projects connecting the major traffic corridors of the state.
