The City of Pasco Public Works Department services include the planning, design, construction, inspection, operation and maintenance of the city’s infrastructure, including all roadways, sidewalks, street signals, street lighting, storm drainage, water production facilities, water and sewer conveyance systems, process water reuse facility, and sewage treatment systems. The department is comprised of Engineering, Fleet, Water, Wastewater/Sewer, Street/Storm Water and Process Water Reuse divisions, and operates on a total budget of $72 million and employs 89 FTE’s. Reporting to the City Manager, the Public Works Director directs, plans, manages, and reviews the activities and operations of the Public Works Department and is responsible for three direct reports: Operations Superintendent, City Engineer, and Public Works Administrative Assistant. A bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field, and 5 years of professional level experience, including supervisory and managerial experience, in the area of engineering and public works operations and maintenance. Candidates may possess any combination of relevant education and experience that demonstrates their ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
