The City of Woodburn's Public Works Department operates with 38 FTE’s and has a total budget of $30.3 million. Working under the general direction of the City Administrator and the Assistant City Administrator, the Public Works Director plans, administers, and directs the functions, activities and operations of the department, including engineering, water, wastewater, and streets and storm drains. The position oversees the quality of design and construction of city and private projects in public rights-of-way. The director directly supervises the Department Secretary, Programs Manager, City Engineer, Water Superintendent, Wastewater Superintendent, and Street Superintendent. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Business or related field is required. Master's degree in Management preferred. 8 years of increasingly responsible experience related to project management, engineering, utilities, infrastructure, construction, or urban services, of which at least 5 years were in a management/supervisory capacity. Experience in municipal public works management preferred. Must possess a current and valid Oregon Class C Driver's License or other state equivalent. Candidates may possess any combination of relevant education and experience that demonstrates their ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
