Snohomish County Public Works Department is seeking enthusiastic, talented individuals to fill two key Transportation Specialist positions in our Program Planning team. These individuals provide senior level transportation planning, project management, policy analysis, code writing, and the development of other transportation-related technical documents. Program Planning is a section within the Transportation and Environmental Services (TES) Division of the Public Works Department. Program Planning is responsible for long-range transportation planning, programming, funding and policy analysis for transportation improvements and programs improving this fast-growing, thriving County in the Puget Sound area. This section plays a major role in transportation project identification and prioritization, grant funding, legislative analysis, code and policy development, and inter-jurisdictional cooperation. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the transportation policy practices and traffic engineering principles and be familiar with current transportation trends and developments, federal, state and local laws effecting transportation. Successful candidates will have the ability to lead teams in addressing complex transportation challenges and manage projects. Knowledge and ability to use current software and to gather, analyze and evaluate a variety of land use, transportation and traffic data is essential to success in this position. Experience in producing and maintaining engineering standards documents is a plus. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, will demonstrate the ability to work well with staff and stakeholders with a variety of backgrounds, and will be able to positively contribute to the Program Planning team as well as the entire TES Division. |
