EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: In this journey-level position, you will inspect water service for code compliance, repair water mains, install and repair fire hydrants, and operate a variety of equipment including excavators, backhoes, and dump trucks. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The successful candidate will pass a physical capacities test designed to evaluate ability to perform the essential physical functions of the job. The essential physical functions include Install/repair water lines, install/repair fire hydrants, install/repair service lines, install/replace water meters and general maintenance on water valves and sample stations. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skills would be equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade and two (2) years of experience in construction, repair, operation, and maintenance of underground utilities. Successful candidate will pass a physical capacities test, drug screen and background check after receiving a conditional job offer.
