City of Prescott Department of Public Works is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and collaborative licensed professional engineer to assist with the design and review of both City and private development projects, with an emphasis on utilities. The ideal candidate should possess a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork and the ability to work independently to develop, guide and monitor engineering projects. The ideal candidate will ensure technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria; interpreting and carrying out programs and objectives; may serve as Project Manager and may have supervisory duties. Education and Experience: Must have a bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona is highly desirable. Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or obtain within 30 days of employment. Six (6) years of civil engineering practice, including three (3) years in the design of water, sewer, roadway, and drainage with a solid understanding and proficiency of AutoCad Civil 3D. Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Tasks: Knowledge and Skills: Physical and Visual Ability: sufficient to effectively and safely perform required duties and to safely operate required equipment and City vehicles as needed. Hearing and Speaking Ability: sufficient to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate in person and over the telephone and e-mail.
