About the Opportunity The City of Charlotte, one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, is seeking an innovative professional to lead Engineering and Property Management’s (E&PM) Engineering Services Division. The Engineering Services Division Manager will provide leadership of a 70+ person division responsible for the management and project delivery of more than 150 capital projects and 370 contracts covering Major Roadways/Intersections, Business Corridor Revitalization and Streetscape, Pedestrian and Bicycle Program, Neighborhood Improvement, Street Resurfacing, and the Environmental Program. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the City Engineer and serving as a key member of E&PM’s leadership team, he/she will provide vision and direction for the Engineering Services Division; motivate and engage staff toward that vision; provide problem solving, long range planning and management for the Division; and leadership for a diverse staff including project managers, engineers, and construction inspection professionals. Other key areas of responsibility include:
Minimum Qualifications: A four-year degree in Engineering or a related field with at least seven (7) years of experience or a four-year degree in Engineering or related field with a graduate degree in public administration, business administration or a managerial program with at least five (5) years of related experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer is required. Prefer a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in local government capital project management, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience directly managing professional, administrative and technical staff.
Salary Range: Negotiable up to market rate of $112,742 DOQ.
