The City of Dallas, Texas (pop. 1.3 million) Mobility & Street Services Department seeks highly motivated candidates for their next Assistant Director to oversee the Construction Inspection and Right-of-Way Management Division. This is an exciting time, as the City of Dallas is executing a $500 million bond program, providing the selected candidate with an incredible set of challenges and experiences as well as a role in changing the landscape of Dallas for years to come. Reporting to the Director of Mobility & Street Services, this Assistant Director position has responsibility for the Construction Inspection and Right-of-Way Management Division within the Mobility & Street Services Department. The Division has responsibility for inspecting all construction and capital bond projects, as well as all departmental construction projects of roads, bridges, and sidewalks. This Division also has responsibility for pavement assessment and management of the City’s streets as well as overseeing the management of the City’s right-of-way including street cut inspection and management. Must have a minimum of five years of engineering design, cost and project scheduling, and public relations experience including two years general management and supervisory experience. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field of study is required. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or able to obtain registration in the State of Texas within six months of employment.
